Mining Osprey Fit

The Osprey (Caldari Cruiser) is considered to be the best mining cruiser out of all of the cruisers available in EVE. The runner up is Minmatar's Scythe, but only because it has 45 m3 less of cargo space. The Osprey gets 20% extra mining yield per each cruiser skill level along with 3 available slots for mining lasers and 3 low slots for possible cargohold expansion.

Osprey Fitting Stats for a New Mining Character
High Slots:
3x Miner II

Medium Slots:
1x Experimental 1MN Afterburner I
1x Survery Scanner I
2x Medium Subordinate Screen Stabilizer

Low Slots:
3x Expanded Cargohold II

Drones:
4x any Light Scout or Mining Drones

There's no need to upgrade the Medium Shield Extender to Tech II because the Tech I Meta Level II variant (Medium Subordinate Screen Stabilizer) will provide enough tank for any high-sec asteroid belt rats. You can additionally install Medium Cargohold Optimization rigs if you so choose, replacing some or all of the Expanded Cargohold II modules with Mining Upgrades II

The stats for a new mining character with Caldari Cruiser II and Astrogeology II are:
- 1005.2 m3 cargo space
- 332.64 m3/min mining yield
